WEEKLY REPORT ON NIFTY BY kadiyali - 29.08.09 (Saturday)

WEEK GONE BY

Nifty opened the week with a big positive gap, and remained under the control of bulls throught out the week, and managed to close above its elusive 4700 level. It closed the week with a positive close at4732, up 204 points. The high of the week of 4743 was recorded on Friday, and the low of the week of 4582 was touched on Tuesday. Nifty more or less traded in the trading range of 4520-4750 indicated by me in my last Weekly Report.

WEEK AHEAD

Having recorded positive close for 7 consecutive days, Nifty is unlikely to scale further highs without giving up part of the gains. Nifty will temporarily slide towards 4600 during next week, before picking up the upward momentum. Nifty may trade next week in a range of 4590-4780, before closing the week NEAR FLAT.

STRATEGY FOR THE WEEK

1. If you are long, hold on to your longs for a nifty target of 4900+.

2. If you are short, do cover your shorts when spot nifty touches 4600.

3. Boldly buy 4500PE if nifty goes beyond 4900 during next week.

STOCK RECOMMENDATION

Hold on to your long term investment in shares, but do start booking profits in shares held by you for short term once nifty goes beyond 4900. Any fresh entry into stock investment at such high levels is NOT recommended.

OPTION RECOMMENDATION

1. Watch the premium of nifty put 4500PE (cmp 73). BUY the same if & when it falls below 60 during next week for a target of 95.

2. Watch the premium of nifty call 4800CE (cmp 126). SHORT one lot when spot nifty touches 4750. After taking this trade, nifty can either rise to 4850 or fall to 4600, and the chances of the latter happening first is more. If nifty touches 4850 first, SHORT one more lot of 4900CE & BUY 2 lots of 4500PE. If nifty touches 4600 first, cover your shorted 4800CE & BUY the same out of the profits.

Those members/readers who follow the above Option Strategy No 2, please do report back to me how much they have gained or lost.

WEEKLY REPORT ON NIFTY BY kadiyali - 22.08.09 (Saturday)

WEEK GONE BY

Nifty opened the week with a negative gap, and was subjected to heavy selling by bears almost throught the week, but the support level of 4350 indicated by earlier proved to be solid, and nifty managed to close the week above the psychologically important level of 4500, though with a negative close. It closed the week at 4528, down 52 points. The high of the week of 4538 was recorded on Friday nearer to closing hours, and the low of the week of 4353 was touched on Wednesday.

WEEK AHEAD

As indicated in my Strategy for the Week last week, nifty finally managed to recover from its solid support of 4350, and posted a close above 4500. It will continue the uptrend though with lot of valatility this week due to this being the expiry week. The trading range of nifty next week is likely to be 4520-4750.

STRATEGY FOR THE WEEK

1. Stay invested in cash shares.

2. Calls above 4800 & puts below 4500 will be on the losing side this week.

3. Encash your profits as early as it is seen for both 4500/4600 calls & puts, and wait for a lower level to rebuy.

STOCK RECOMMENDATION

Buy GARDEN SILK (cmp) 80 for a target of 300 in 3 years. A sure MULTIBAGGER in 2-3 years.

OPTION RECOMMENDATION

Watch the premium of 4600PE (cmp) 99, and 4500CE (cmp) 87.  BUY 4600PE below 30 for a target of 60. Once target is achieved, both these options should be commanding almost same price, and so convert 4600PE into 4500CE at that time, and hold the latter till expiry.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR TRADING IN FUTURES & OPTIONS FOR SMALL INVESTORS

FUTURES

1. Trade only INTRADAY for Nifty Futures. The intraday rise or fall in nifty futures is good enough for any traders to make money.

2. DO NOT carry any OVERNIGHT position in Nifty Futures, unless & until you have gained sufficient profits in trading.

3. Enter Stock Futures only after gaining sufficient experience in BTST trades.

OPTIONS

Option Trading is highly speculative & risky trading, where one can earn as much as 100% of the investment in a single trading session, at the same time, risking the amount to get halved within no time. The option premium will see erratic swings intraday in line with the movement of prices of stocks or index. One has to take extra caution while trading in options.

I give herebelow the general GUIDELINEs to be kept in mind while initiating option trades from small investors' point of view:

1. As the Option trades are speculative in nature, the amount allotted for the same should be a small portion of the investible funds of the members. Depending on the investible funds with you, the amount allotted should be in following 3 categories: (A) Rs 15000-30000, (B) 31000-60000, (C) 61000-90000.

2. Once you allot an amount under any of the above 3 categories depending on your investible funds, any increase in the funds allotted should be STRICTLY out of the profits earned.

3. Allotment of funds for any trades should not exceed 20% of the capital allotted for options  OR Rs 6000 whichever is higher. Placing all the money in one single trade is STRICT NO NO.

4. The exposure of the funds for outstanding option position any time should not exceed 60% of the original funds allotted.

5. Investors should never worry about booking loss in any unfavourable trade, as when we expect good profits on favourable trades, loss on unfavourable trades should also be taken for granted.

6. If the recommendation under Trading Calls is for buying call/put below a particular rate, members should not buy it above that rate, though the target may be reasonably high from that level. So if the recommendation is to buy a call below 90, the trade should be not more than 1 rupee above that rate, and can be any amount below 90.

7. All the Trading Calls will have the Target stipulated. But it is absolutely not necessary that one should wait for that target to reach. Booking profits much below the target will cultivate Profit Booking Habit among members, and it is always better to book profits on all trades as quickly as possible.

8. STOP LOSS will not be stipulated for any trades, and members should automatically square off any unfavourable trades if the loss reaches 35% of the premium paid.

9. Starting point for Option Trades can either be Category A or B, and members may go to Category C only after gaining some favourable experience.

ALL THE MEMBERS OF THIS BLOG AS WELL AS READERS/VISITORS ARE REQUESTED TO TRADE IN FUTURES & OPTIONS IN STRICT COMPLIANCE OF THE ABOVE GUIDELINES.

kadiyali

PS: The above is a copy of the guidelines already posted by me earlier, but I keep repeating the guidelines, so that the members/readers/visitors of this blog will not forget them, and will trade in strict compliance of these guidelines.

WEEKLY REPORT ON NIFTY BY kadiyali - 15.08.09 (Saturday)

WEEK GONE BY

After a break in weekly positive closes last week, Nifty this week again managed to post a positive close, ending the week at 4580 against its previous week's close of 4481, up 99 points. After a gap up opening above 4500 level on Monday, Nifty failed to sustain the positive gap, came down upto an intraday low of 4359 on Wednesday, but recovered smartly upto a high of 4619 on Friday, before closing at 4580. August month support of 4400 & resistance of 4700 were not  violated on closing basis during the week.

WEEK AHEAD

Aided by a better than expected IIP numbers, Nifty recovered smartly this week from its weekly low of 4359. The uptrend is likely to continue, and nifty will post another positive weekly close next week. The trading range for the week is likely to be 4480-4760.

STRATEGY FOR THE WEEK

A major portion of the retail investors have been made to believe nifty will correct below 4200 this expiry, and as on date the factors favouring this pessimistic view are deficient monsoon & bubble in Chinese market. Against this, a fresh view is slowly gaining ground that 4400 will be the support for nifty, and aided by many positive factors, nifty can scale new high above its intraday high of 4731 recorded on 4th of this month. The positive factors favouring this optimistic view are many like better than expected IIP number, better than expected Q1 results just declared by frontline companies, favourable inflation data, surplus liquidity in the banking system, southward interest rates though gradually & favourable global GDP numbers,  possibility of funds withdrawn from Chinese market moving to Indian market, and refund from just concluded large IPOs adding liquidity to secondary market.  And on top of these, if monsoon progresses next week, the market will see all of a  sudden disappearance of the negative factors. All these factors point to a nifty target of 5000 by 15th September.

Keeping the above in mind, stay invested in cash shares, keep sufficient liquidity to add longs at dips, and get out of short positions on dips. Any intraday level below 4540 is a good dip to go long, and any level below 4500 is a golden dip to go long for this week.

STOCK RECOMMENDATION

BUY Tata Teleservices (cmp 33) for a target of 50 by 15.09.09.

OPTION RECOMMENDATION

Watch the premium of nifty call 4500CE (cmp 147) & BUY 2 lots if it falls below 90 for a Target of 140. On achieving the target, SELL one lot, reduce the cost of the balance lot, and hold it till expiry.

WEEKLY REPORT ON NIFTY BY kadiyali - 08.08.09 (Saturday)

WEEK GONE BY

Though Nifty traded above 4700 for the first 4 days of the week, it could not secure a close above its strong resistance of 4725 on any of these days, and finally ended up closing the week near week's low of  at 4481, down 155 points.  It traded the week in the range of 4463 to 4731. The high of the week was 4731 touched on Tuesday and the low of the week was 4463 recorded on Friday. The fact that nifty touched 4723, 4731, 4717 & 4718 on the first 4 days but was confronted with huge supply around this level should not be ignored during the next few days.

WEEK AHEAD

As Nifty failed to secure a close above its strong resistance of 4725 the whole of this week, bears undoubtedly received an upper hand & brought down nifty by more than 200 points in two days. Now bears will make nifty Sell On Rise till 4725 is taken out by the bulls on a closing basis.

Nifty is likely to trade RANGEBOUND for the next week consolidating in  a small range of 150 points. Trading range for the week is likely to be 4500-4650. However, nifty will post a positive close for the week.

STRATEGY FOR THE WEEK

1. If you are long, it is undoubtedly the time to reduce the load,  booking profits on every rise.

2. If you are short, hold on to the same & start adding puts when  nifty starts trading above 4650.

STOCK RECOMMENDATIONS

In my last Weekly Report, I had suggested liquidation of stocks in order to take advantage of an expected deep correction to 3900-4300 levels. With the unexpected fall this week itself, the nifty range for the remaining period of August looks to be 4400-4700, with the chances of breaching the lower band more than the upper band, due to monsoon deficiency & fall in Chinese market. So book your profits in the portfolio so as to have a cash balance of at least 50% of the Portfolio size.

OPTION RECOMMENDATIONS

1.In my last Weekly Report, I had recommended 4900CE below 65 for a target of 135, and to convert the profits into 4500PE. Though this call option gave some good intraday gains for first 3 days, the target did not materialise, and the call option is now at CMP of 25. It is now recommended to get out of this option nearer to buy price OR hedge the same with 4500PE below 100.

2. Watch the premium of SAIL puts 160PA (LTP 5.70). BUY SAIL 160PA below 4 for a target of 10.

Saturday, August 1, 2009

WEEKLY REPORT ON NIFTY BY kadiyali - 01.08.09 (Saturday)

WEEK GONE BY

Nifty continued its uptrend for the third week after its big fall in the post budget week, and closed the week near high at 4636, up 68 points. Trading range for the week was 4420 to 4669. The high of the week 4669 was touched on Friday and the low of the week 4420 was recorded on Wednesday.

WEEK AHEAD

Having secured a positive close for Nifty for the last 3 weeks, bulls will continue to dominate the market,  and Nifty will be able to post gains for at least 3 of the 5 trading days of next week. Nifty will close the next week also in positive but with minor gains. Trading range for the week is likely  to be 4580-4810.

STRATEGY FOR THE WEEK

1. If you are long, continue to ride on your longs but do note to book profits once nifty goes past 4800.

2. If you are short, next week will give you very anxious moments, and you may not be able to get a decent exit for the whole of the week, as nifty is unlikely to trade below 4580.

3. Accumulate nifty puts 4400PE once nifty goes past 4800.

STOCK RECOMMENDATIONS

Nifty is likely to touch a high of 4810 for the next week, and also to reach a target of 4900 anytime thereafter. However as the quarterly results season is almost over & there is no other positive trigger for the market in next 2 months, the days of bulls may be numbered very shortly. It will be prudent to book profits in whatever shares we hold now, and wait for a deep correction to 4300-3900.

OPTION RECOMMENDATIONS

Watch the premium of nifty call 4900CE (CMP 77) & nifty put 4500PE (CMP 109).

BUY 4900CE below 65 for a target of 135. Upon achieving the target, SELL and take out your money, invest the profits in 4500PE at the rate prevailing at that time, which is likely to be equal to the profits gained from 4900CE trade. Keep the 4500PE so bought for a target of 150.
