DAILY REPORT ON NIFTY BY kadiyali - 27.07.09 (Monday)

Nifty Futures Morning Call

11AM... Nifty Futures opened today at 4601 against its previous close of 4575, and is currently trading at 4589. It has so far recorded a HIGH of 4610 & a LOW of 4555. Asian cues are positive, US futures are in green, and European markets are likely to open in positive expecting better quarterly results. Nifty will trade the whole of the session in positive, will post handsome gains, but the last hour trade may lead to profit taking, and nifty may close today in positive but below 4600. NF is likely to trade in the range of 4555-4660.

Trading Calls

11.54AM...NF now at 4565. Go LONG.  SL 4532. Target 1 - 4615.  Target 2 - 4639.

1.01PM...NF now at 4530. Stop Loss of my above trade is triggered.

Market Closing Report

Nifty futures closed the day just flat at 4576, down 1 point, after touching a low of 4525. Morning high of 4610 remained the high of the day.

NIFTY OUTLOOK

Nifty traded today in both positive & negative zones alternatively, and ended the day near flat at 4572, up 4 points. FIIs net bought 439cr & DIIs net sold 279cr. Though nifty rose from its low of 3918 touched on 13th July very fast on the back of better quarterly results & filled the post budget fall, it has been facing tough resistance on its way to its next target of 4700. It has repeatedly failed to surpass 4600 for the last four days, and profit booking by DIIs at higher levels could be the reason, as they have been net sellers for the last five trading days. Moreover nearness to expiry may lead to some correction from the current levels.

Nifty levels for 28.07.09 Tuesday are: PIVOT 4566, R1 4603 & R2 4634, S1 4534 & S2 4498.

  5. Dear Ramesh,
Hedging your 4500PE with 4600PE is a step in right direction, but continuous averaging with the losing strike rate is not good. You already had 4 lots of 4500PE, instead of adding 2 more lots of the same strike rate, you could have added one lot of 4600PE. Whenever market moves in opposite direction of our existing options, it is better to book loss in lower strike rate & add higher strike rate for puts & vice versa for calls. Rgrds.

  9. Sir,

I request you to post your live NF daily trading tips here also as this is must more faster the moneycontrol. Today I purchased your trading tips at 4575 and unfortunately it has hit the stopless. My reason for saying is, if I would have purchased at 4565 my loss would have been less.

Other queries are when shd I come out of 4600CE / 4500PE positions?

  15. Dear topiwala,
You need not buy 4500PE at this stage, but may buy 4600PE ONLY below 60 as recommended by me in my Weekly Report. It had briefly slipped below 60 today morning, whoever placed the order even for 59.10 would have got it today morning. Rgrds.
